"My family and I love Fort Worth. It is the best place to live, work and play. I’d be honored if you joined my campaign so, together, we can continue to move Fort Worth forward."
HONOR THE PAST. LOOK TO THE FUTURE. LIVE IN THE PRESENT.
MICHAEL D. CRAIN
From growing up in North Fort Worth to building relationships across the Eastside, Southside, and Westside, I have seen firsthand the values that make our city special. More than 30 years in public service—including my time on the City Council—has reinforced a simple truth: effective leadership always begins with listening, building relationships, and helping people address the challenges they face.
Tackling our challenges requires teamwork, and we are blessed that the collaborative spirit of Fort Worth has shaped our unique quality of life, which is why we are attracting people and new businesses from all over the world. As we navigate this tremendous growth together, our shared responsibility is protecting what makes our city special. Our focus must be on ensuring this prosperity is felt in the neighborhoods in every corner of our city—tackling affordability challenges head-on, managing growth responsibly, and guaranteeing excellent, dependable services to every resident.
Honor the Past. Look to the Future. Live in the Present. To me, this means respecting the people and neighborhoods that built our city, preparing thoughtfully for what lies ahead, and focusing on what residents need today. Progress should be measured not simply by how much our city grows, but by how well that growth improves the quality of life in every zip code.
Delivering that kind of progress requires leaders who know that experience must always be paired with humility and a willingness to keep learning. No one has all the answers, and you cannot fully understand the challenges our residents face sitting behind a desk.
The real work happens out in our neighborhoods. It means showing up, listening, asking questions, rolling up our sleeves, and working directly with the community to find practical solutions.
Finding those solutions requires continually seeking creative ideas, challenging old assumptions, and bringing people together. Different perspectives make decisions stronger, and progress depends on a willingness to listen, learn, and work together.
I am proud to serve this community, grateful for what its people continue to teach me, and optimistic about our future. We can honor Fort Worth’s heritage while embracing progress, protect neighborhood character while welcoming opportunity, and prepare for tomorrow without losing sight of today’s needs.
Let’s build a Fort Worth where neighborhoods thrive, opportunity grows, and families can always afford to call this city home.
Best,
Michael D. Crain
